When someone mentions summer, all those who are on Instagram will remember the recognizable song "Summer Vibes", which adorns many reels and stories. The culprit behind the production of the song that we hear several times every day is our guest today, but also a great friend of Filmark World Music. His name is Razvan Mitroi. Lyricist and composer, with residential address in Bucharest.

He was born on December 15, 1998. He has graduated from a business and tourism university at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies. His love for music started in childhood, growing up listening to Avicii.

In 2020, Razvan Mitroi garnered international attention with the song “Summer Vibes” starting a trend on TikTok and Instagram Reels. Razvan debuted on several charts on iTunes and Spotify, receiving support from famous people such as Ava Max, Robin Schulz, Jamie Oliver, Nicole Scherzinger, Charelle Schriek, Josephine Skriver, Sergio Ramos, and many more. Razvan Mitroi registered an increase of 72% in daily Spotify streams. After being used in an Instagram Story by Sergio Ramos in July 2021, media outlets and record labels have started to show attention to Razvan Mitroi by writing articles about his music.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

1) Hello, Razvan! How are you? Where are you right now?

Hello, thanks for having me! I am feeling great. Currently, I am on a small vacation with my friends, visiting our country. There are a few places I've wanted to visit for a long time but never had the chance to do so.

2) It was nice to see so many positive headlines and comments about you, because you are young and already well-known in the world. How do you deal with all those compliments and praises?

I wouldn’t say I am a well-known figure yet, but it’s always nice to see people listening to my music, liking, and commenting on my videos/ posts. For now, I am more focused on making great music and establishing connections in the industry, which could help me in the long run.

3) Who was the biggest support at the beginning of your career?

My parents were a bit skeptical about me pursuing a career in music, mostly because they're in favor of traditional 9 to 5 jobs. For me, producing music started as a hobby. After seeing all the support I received, I started to take a career in music more seriously.

4) Would you describe your day? When you get up, what fills you up and who do you spend most of your free time with?

Of course! Most of the time I'm alone, but I try to spend my time surrounded by amazing people, such as my friends. Regarding how a day in my life looks, I don't have a fixed routine. It mostly depends on the inspiration I have in that moment. If I can't work on new music due to the lack of ideas, I am trying to spend the day doing other stuff i.e branding, connecting with my fans, visiting new places, anything that can inspire me.

5) As a child, could you have predicted the success you have achieved these years?

No, I couldn't. As a child, I never thought I will be pursuing a career in music. At that time, I wasn't sure which career to pursue. At first, I wanted to be an architect. Then, I started high school in business and pursued this domain until college when I also started producing music as a hobby.

6) Can you tell us what is your favorite event, memory this year?

I’m trying to celebrate every achievement but if I have to choose one, probably would be the vacation to Dubai I had at the beginning of the year.

7) How long did it take you to compose the composition "Summer Vibes" and did you expect the song to become a hit in all parts of the world? Where did the inspiration for such a hit come from?
“Summer Vibes” was one of the first attempts of me learning about music production. My expectation wasn’t high as this song would’ve been my first official release. After releasing “Summer Vibes” the support wasn’t great at all. Most of the time I felt like this song is not the one which could make me famous. After more than 1 year from the release, suddenly people started listening to this song, making it the Summer hit it’s today.

8) You recently released the song "Somebody To Love". Are you happy with the reactions?
I am very happy with the support so far. For the first time in my career labels and the editorial team on streaming platforms showed their love and support by adding “Somebody To Love” to the official playlists i.e New Music Friday on Spotify, and New Music Daily on Apple Music.

9) Are you preparing a new music project?
Yes, I already have a new song coming this September and I’m already working on the next ones.

10) Favorite colleagues in the music industry?
I have good relationships with many people in this industry. I would say, I have a great connection with one of my producer friends Alan (aka Veno) who’s living in the Netherlands. He was one of the first people I met when my career started. Now, we are talking almost every day over Instagram about music, our personal life, etc.
Another good friend of mine would be Ilijas, who’s constantly trying to help me become famous. I would like to thank him for believing in me.

11) If you could choose anyone in the whole world, which person would you like to record a song with?
One of my dreams is to release a song together with Kygo. He is the reason I started making music, and would be amazing to work with him on a record.

12) Best compliment you've ever received?
They’re many, I wouldn’t be able to choose one. I remember someone commented on YouTube “song is too short”. That was the moment I realized people are really enjoying my music.

13) What do you often think about?
Mostly about how can I improve myself, how can I be more successful.

14) Have you ever dedicated a song to a girlfriend?
No, not yet. I know many artists find inspiration by writing about their love dones. For me, this wasn't the case yet.

15) What to visit first in Romania?
Romania is a beautiful country, with plenty of breathtaking landscapes. I would advise people to visit Transylvania, more specifically, Bran Castle, known as Dracula's Castle.

16) Do you know someone famous from Bosnia and Herzegovina?

Yes, I know Bosnia and Herzegovina played many times against the Romanian national football team. Because Barcelona is my favorite team, I know Miralem Pjanić.

17) Your vice?
My biggest vice would be overthinking when it comes to my music. Because I am trying to make my songs to be perfect, most of the time I am ruining the final result.

18) Your message for those who want to succeed you?
Don’t overthink things. Making music should be fun and not something stressful. The success will come eventually. Just don’t make this an influential factor in your career. Another piece of advice would be to start working on your branding as soon as possible. In the end, we are a business, with our music being the product. We should start focusing more on who we are, why people should care about our music, and what we want from potential collaborators.
